WHY DO I KEEP TRACK OF SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN A BLOG?
It just really helps me stay motivated to see my progress, and makes my work more fun. It’s fun to see progress. I also hope it will encourage others who have what seems an overwhelming task to “make a start”. If you don’t start you’ll never finish right? It’s that simple. So keeping track of my progress makes it fun for me. There is a song that talks about that very issue “In EVERY job that must be down there is an element of fun.” Truly!
TARGET COMPLETION DATE IS SATURDAY MAY 31
almost there … (updated May 23)
Well … I missed my target date of May 31, I was almost 1 month later, but
if I didn’t start I never would finish! I have a few other minor organizational things to do. I have to go through all those drawers and edit/purge/organize and do the same thing for those two tall cabinets. It sure felt good getting rid of all that “stuff”. It takes me much longer to do this kind of stuff now. It takes lots of energy of which I don’t have so much of anymore. I have to take projects in 20 minute increments. But it all adds up to getting things done, even if it takes a while.
Began April 21 – Target Completion Date is May 31, which includes the washing of floors, and painting of walls. Due to cash flow challenges right now, it looks like sealing the floor may have to wait a bit. But I am thrilled that so much has been accomplished for now. I work on this project 2-3 hours a day. What has been most challenging is finding spaces inside our home for the many things that were on the shelves (see day 1).
Also…simultaneous to this I’ve been doing other much needed organization projects in every single room/closet and cabinet in our home. It’s very time consuming to get organized, but it had to be done. The garage will be done by my target date, but all my other projects will take the rest of the year as I’m only allowing myself 2-3 hours a day to get it all done.
Day 4: We still have to go through all the drawers and the cabinets
My Timeline for this project is 1 – 2 months depending on how I feel. I can give it from 1 -2 hours per day
